Great location with fantastic views of the sea from many of the bedrooms.

Breakfast not included in price. Most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in with very old bedding ! Room quite shabby and dirty - very dusty.

    Superb

Excellent value, clean spacious rooms, great location, minutes from major transport links.

    Exceptional

The best part of my stay at the Kingston was the location of my room. I had a problem with my knee, which prevented me from walking around as much as I would have liked, so appreciated being able to look out over the pier and the sea, all aided by the glorious weather whilst I was there. Having spent a large part of my youth in Dun Laoghaire through various activities this trip was nostalgic for various reasons and I found the Kingston easygoing, and extremely suitable. The staff were more than helpful, the food was excellent and I would definitely stay there again, on the proviso that I got the same room.

    The location is terrific.

It was gloomy and the rooms were dark. The man on the night desk was quite unfriendly when we arrived, and in general the staff seemed dour and fed up. It could be a beautiful place. Put in more lights. The beds were uncomfortable - the bottom sheet immediately bunches up on the double bed and it feels as though you are sleeping on a straw mattress. Putting paper 'Bath Mats' inside the tub looks and feels cheap. Also, I booked two rooms - a single and a double. They were both the same, but I paid 20 Euros a night more for the double room. I realize that this is not an expensive hotel, but it could be one of the nicer ones in Dun Laoghaire with a bit of work.

    Superb

An old hotel with plenty of character and good old-fashioned feel and service. Absolute beachfront overlooking the quay at Dun Laoghaire and we were lucky enough to get one of the rooms facing the coast. Meals in the bar were great in value and taste. Very happy overall. Would not suit people who want all the sterile bells and whistles offered by many newer hotels.

    Very good

This hotel is clean, comfortable with good basic food. The rooms are a little dated but fits in with the general appearance of the hotel. The local community use the bar for meetings and there was a 'trad-jazz night. So there was an opportunity to meet the 'Irish'. It is ideal for the Dart to Dublin for shopping site-seeing etc. The town of Dun Laoghaire with its harbour is very pretty.

Handy for transport links to Dublin etc.

    Superb

Very high pressure water, hot and powerful shower. Excellent.

Could hear the pigeons coo-ing outside the window.. Nothing can be done about that, it's the seaside. Get over it, go out and have a beer or 5.

Location is good, close to shopping centres, seaview.

Staff and customer service are poor. Beddings and curtains are old and dirty. Ceilings' paint are totally worn out needs refurbishing. Room smells damp carpet and cigarette (bec they put us in a smoking room although we did not ask for it!!!) Staff at the reception got an attitude! Blames and argues with customer instead of resolving the issue.

    Superb

The seaview bedrooms and the very friendly and helpful staff. The hotel is also very convenient for the ferry port and the dart into Dublin city center

    Very good

The hotel met every requirement, but nothing special. It served a purpose and I had no complaints.

Room was a bit shabby. Not unclean, just a bit old and worn. Holes in the carpet.

    Fabulous

the location was very good. t was a lovely hotel with beautiful views.

the hotel needed a bit more cleaning. but only freshening up.

    Good location.

The room was grubby, with poor decor and facilities; the bathroom particularly poor insofar as the soap dispenser was broken when it should have been attached to the wall in the shower. The main room seemed to be half-way through a re-fit, as there was a hole in the counter where a hob had once been and an extractor fan above. The floor looked as if it had not been cleaned properly. The cooked breakfast was cold because the bain marie was not warm enough to keep the food at sufficient temperature.
